Three Summer Colours to Wear

by Beauty Marketing on June 22, 2022

There are 3 colours that will definitely brighten up every summer, either alone or in combination. We could call them ‘trends’, but they’re actually classics that you’ll never go wrong with and will always make you look stylish.

Pink

Though Pantone announced a soft lavender blue (veri peri) as the ‘colour of the year’, looking at the catwalks, designers bet on a much bolder, brighter colour. They voted for hot pink. Valentino, for instance, dressed not only all their models in pink, but their catwalk, too!

Any shade of pink works well with sun-kissed skin and combined with either neutral or bright colours, such as orange or red using colour blocking. (Don’t forget to wear sunscreen, though!) As for accessories, go for the classic ‘less is more’ approach with a neutral-coloured belt or earrings.

White

We tend to consider all-white outfits for weddings, christenings or beach holidays, but it’s perfect for any occasion during the summer. White comes in many different shades and is extremely versatile. Wear an all-white outfit with gold accessories to create an extra elegant impression.

For more leisurely occasions, combine white with colourful accessories, like a pink belt or blue bag and sandals. Loose white trousers with a mono-coloured t-shirt or slim-fitting top are also great choices during the summer. White sneakers are must-haves, too, just make sure to keep them clean! You can’t go wrong with short-sleeved or sleeveless tops, and you can wear them with denim shorts, a skirt or loose trousers.

Black

Whoever said black is a faux-pas during summer? It’s actually perfect because you can combine it with any colour, even pink, and you can play with the fabrics, cuts and accessories. Even a basic print with polka dots or stripes can work well.

Look for the right fabrics and cuts. There are definitely many ultra-light, soft, black fabrics that make great summer dresses. Avoid a figure-hugging style for the summer, and go with something loose that’s sleeveless or has straps instead.

Black sandals are must-haves, and if you want to update your shoe collection, espadrilles have made comeback this summer.

As for accessories, the possibilities are endless: anything goes if you wear a black dress with a simple cut.
