Nowadays it is crucial not just to keep educating yourself to keep up to date with work, personal life or free time activities but to look the part whatever it is you are doing. Some women think, style equals fashion, that ever changing, speedy cycle that is very difficult to keep up with. We have good news: it is not the same thing.
While fashion is global, is constantly moving and is sometimes hard to follow, style is eternal, it is individual and absolutely unique. However, there is no strict recipe to what ones style actually is.
Brings out the best in you
Style is like your magic wand, when it is right, it will bring out the best in you in every situation. Your style will emphasize your positives and conceal areas you do not necessarily want to show.
Speaks for you
Your personal style will tell a story about you before you even introduce yourself. It will show if you are a casual or a more formal type of person, colours may show if you are playful or classic, maybe even more shy or closed personality. Lack of accessories will tell you are more a minimalistic type, whereas bright jewellery for example will make your passion shine through.
Makes you feel confident
You know you have found your perfect style when each and every piece will make you feel confident, more ‘yourself’. If you are now sure about something you are wearing, it will definitely be reflected on your (lack of) confidence.
Fashion is not always comfortable. However, if a dress tucks in somewhere, if the shoes cut into your toes, or if you have to keep pulling your shirt to cover your stomach, you have definitely not chosen the right outfit and therefore you are not in synch with your style. Make sure, the materials your are wearing, feel good against your skin, that the cut is flattering and comfy and you can still move.
To find your style, you might have to look into the topic more, try different outfits and make notes at the end of the day to remember, how it made you feel. Or you can always seek help and find out more about your style trough the eyes of others.
